December 2013 Glossybox Review

My first Glossybox! I recently purchased a three month subscription and I am very exciting to have finally gotten my December 2013 Glossybox. I can already see what some of the hype is about. There is just something great about getting a surprise in the mail.

The beauty goodies came wrapped in paper tied with a bow inside of a pink box as you can see.

Inside my box was some shower gel from Anatomicals, moisturizing cream from Naobay, nail polish from Nails Inc. in victoria, a pumpkin mask from Michael Todd True Organics, and black eyeliner from Ardency Inn. It also came with a card that lists all of the products, tells a little bit about them, and gives the price and ounces for the full size products.

I think that I'm going to like most of the products and I'm looking forward to this month's box!

A Geektastic Holiday Gift Guide

Hello everyone! Meghan here.
Still haven't found that perfect gift? No worries, there's still time. In an effort to help you out, I've come up with a list of some geeky gift ideas. I'm by no means a gifting expert, but most of these items are things that I would give or like to get so I hope they can at least inspire you to find the perfect gift for that geeky person in your life.

Gifts under $40
Tech touch gloves- These gloves keep your hands warm and let you use your phone or other touch screen devices!
A t-shirt or sweatshirt- I love this Star Trek sweatshirt from Target and I have this Star Wars t-shirt. This is probably one of the easiest gifts because you can get them at a variety of stores.
Jewelry- Not necessarily for everyone, I know, but this I see nargles bracelet is too cute! Also, there is this beautiful Doctor Who inspired charm bracelet.
iPhone case- Etsy is probably one of the best places to find unique iphone cases. Some of my favorites are Harry Potter inspired, BeemoThe Fault in Our Stars and the Game Boy Color one.
Gifts under $100
DVD box set- New seasons of Doctor Who and Supernatural are both out on DVD.
Video games- I'll admit, I'm not a huge gamer. I do, however, enjoy playing Super Mario and the Sims. Some of the recent releases include Mario and Luigi:Dream Team for Nintendo 3DS, Super Mario 3D World for Nintendo Wii U and The Sims 4 which is currently available for pre-order.
Bedding- I know it's not necessarily geeky, depending I guess on what bedding you pick out, but let's face it, quality bedding isn't cheap and it's a gift we can all appreciate.

Gifts over $100

If you're looking to give something especially generous this year, I would recommend considering an iPad (I don't have one, but they seem like a cool thing to have), a camera, or even a game system.
I hope this list has helped. Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you're wishing for this Holiday season!

Review: City of Bones

Hello everyone! I'm Meghan and today, I thought I would share a review of a book I finished recently.

City of Bones is the first book in Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series. Basically, the book is about a girl named Clary who can see shadowhunters (half-angel and half-human) which means she she is not a mundane (just human). She witnesses what she at first believes to be a murder but was actually shadowhunters killing a demon. This causes one of the shadowhunters named Jace to take an interest in her. Clary's mother goes missing and Clary is attacked by a demon at her house causing Jace to feel the need to bring her to the institute where he lives with a shadowhunter family. Clary learns about shadowhunters and all of the secrets her mother has kept from her.

It was great. Some things I could see coming, but it was wonderful to read how it all played out. Both Simon, Clary's best friend, and Jace are hilarious. Simon is adorable and nerdy. Clary doesn't give him half as much attention as he deserves. I would absolutely recommend it. If you like fantasy books or maybe want to give one a try, this book is a really good choice. I've already went out and bought the second one.

My Favorite Quote:
“…that’s the motto of the Nephilim-the Shadowhunters-there on the base”
“What does it mean?” Jace’s grin was a white flash in the darkness.
“It means ‘Shadowhunters: Looking Better in Black Than the Widows of our Enemies Since 1234″”
